ProtehaMi

What do they do? What is their specialty?

ProtehaMi is a central reporting and advice center for cases of relational violence, neglect, and child abuse. Their specialty is intake, assessment, and routing of these cases. After contact, they listen, ask clarifying questions, assess the situation, and then direct cases to the appropriate next step, whether that's voluntary guidance, a protective measure for a minor, or escalation through the "Veiligheidshuis" (Safety House). For relational abuse, they also conduct a risk assessment.

How can people access their services?

24/7, every day, and the phone line is free of charge. Both citizens and professionals can contact them. Reports can even be made anonymously. No referral via a GP or other professional is needed.

Wat does it cost?

The services are free. ProtehaMi is primarily an advice and reporting point, not a treatment provider. They refer cases onward to guidance departments or other institutions.
